ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Joseph was born in Barking and raised in Dagenham. A location, that coupled with a Dad and Brother who were also fans, offered little escape from a lifetime of supporting West Ham.
As a sucker for nostalgia, he wanted to make something lasting to mark West Ham moving home. Something that Hammers fans or otherwise, could relate with too.
Being a Photographer with a strong background in Publishing, making a book seemed like a fitting way to do this. The perfect way to preserve Upton Park and what it meant to so many people.

"This was a humble project in the beginning. I wanted to take 112 fan portraits and document the unique stories from their time at the Boleyn. Back in July, when I took the first portrait at the Europa League qualifier vs FC Lusitans, I couldn’t have imagined the journey this would take me on. During our meeting, David Gold said to me, "It’s important to have dreams, but they have to be realistic. Otherwise they fade and die"...

So here it is. My dream, shared with you. I hope you enjoy it."
